I have been in the Navy for 34 years now and am just going to do a couple more years to see if I like it or not. Whilst serving in the Falklands (for 4 years – no half measures with me!) I got roped into to trying out volunteer presenting for BFBS (well, they were desperate). I first went live in June 2021 and have been at it ever since. Although I have now left the Falklands, my heart is still there and I have carried on presenting. Apparently, because I am so ancient, I am best off reminiscing about the 80s which is why I present ‘Greatest Hits from the 80s and 90s’ every Tuesday evening starting at 6 in the Falklands and 9 in Asi. But of course I am a patriot as well so it made sense to present 4 hours of ‘Best of British’ music every week on ‘Saturday PM with JC’ starting at 2 in the Falklands and 5 in Asi. Ah bliss! Gets me out of the housework.
